What's this for?

  1. When rereading The Perks of Being a Wallflower this weekend I came across my favorite quote:

    "Maybe it's sad that these are now memories. And maybe it's not sad."

    I think it's interesting that these words, written in Charlie's simple manner, are able to convey complex emotions. To me, this quote describes the difficulty we often have with moving from one point in our lives to another. But it also explains that Charlie is happy to have had those happy experiences to which the quote refers. He would rather those happy points in his life just be memories now than to have never happened at all.
